I struggle with people who call themselves libertarians. To judge from the comments on their Facebook pages, “libertarian” seems to be a not-so-subtle code word for “anarchist.” The main problem I have with libertarians is that they tend to focus pretty exclusively on their rights as they apply on an individual basis, and they tend to ignore those very same rights as they apply on a societal basis.

Qualified Immunity Is a Solution, Not the Problem
If we take away qualified immunity from already lawsuit-jittery cops, we will lose a whole lot more good cops and be left with a whole lot more power-hungry cops. The cure would exacerbate the disease.
