God gave the Israelites very clear criteria concerning who they should choose for their king, and it really had nothing to do with policy. Policy wasn’t what God looked for in a good ruler. God looked at . . . well, character!

It occurred to me that many of my friends have never heard Donna sing, which is a real shame — no, crime. So, here she is.
I Literally Miss “Literally”
I miss the word “literally.”
What particularly irks me about the loss of the word “literally” is that there are literally no real alternatives.

Living Like We Believe It
The Psalms say that even the plans of people and nations are helpless to thwart the plan of God. If we really believe this, then we must believe — we have no choice but to believe — that no political party, no party platform, no legislation, no judicial appointment, no election, and no individual choice regarding how someone votes, can thwart God’s plan. Specifically, none of those things can thwart God’s plan to save His people or His church. Or unborn babies.
